Bonding for Books
Celtic Charities Hosts
1st Annual Father / Daughter Dance

PictureOn Saturday, August 23rd, Celtic Charities presented the opportunity for fathers and daughters to bond over dinner and dancing, while raising money for The Mars Area Library Expansion Project. The 1st Annual Father / Daughter Dance drew over 65 individuals, and many of Celtic Healthcare’s own families attended the event. Held at the Pittsburgh Marriott North, the afternoon featured dance lessons by Arthur Murray (the surprise of the afternoon!), nail painting by Fountain of Youth Salon, story hour, a DJ and dancing, food and drink, a craft station, pictures of each couple, and prizes.

“I could talk about the mission of Celtic Charities and all of its good deeds,” says Arnie Burchianti, CEO of Celtic Healthcare. “But the heart of it comes from my own experience. I attended the Father / Daughter Dance with my own daughter. And I can honestly say that this event personally touched every child and parent who attended. As an added bonus, we raised money for the Mars Area Library Expansion Project – and that will touch more lives. “

In addition, all attendees were given the opportunity to bid on custom painted chairs created by local artists. The winner will be drawn on September 20th at The Mars Area Library Ice Cream Social.

“It will be a special memory for every little girl who attended for many years to come,” says Darlene Janidas, Director of Celtic Charities. “We are pleased with the success of the event – and strongly support the mission of The Mars Area Library Expansion Project. Simply, we bonded for books!”
