On Wednesday, September 10, 2008, Celtic Healthcare officially welcomed the NE Ohio employees into our team! CEO Arnie Burchianti, members of the Executive Team, and Celtic employees from near and far came out to “meet and greet” each other. Refreshments, family fun, and abundant conversation were some of the highlights of the evening, which was held at the Metroplex Hotel and Conference Center in Girard, Ohio. Many Celtic team members used this as a wonderful opportunity to mingle and get to know one another, as well as spend some time with Arnie.

The evening was also marked by a special award ceremony. Dr. Sandy Kulkin and Brad Smith of internationally-renowned PeopleKeys presented Arnie and the Celtic team with a one-of-a-kind award for receiving unprecedented, benchmark-setting results in the healthcare industry through a recent employee quality and satisfaction survey. PeopleKeys, Inc. is a behavioral assessment company specializing in hiring and retention processes, personality, work style, and values assessments and corporate teambuilding strategies. In a random-sample survey of 133 employees, Celtic Healthcare scored an approval rating for overall level of caregiver ownership and quality of services provided by Celtic Healthcare employees that is the highest rating PeopleKeys has ever reported, making Celtic Healthcare the benchmark for the level of positive rating that a healthcare provider could achieve.

On Saturday, October 11th, Celtic Healthcare is joining others around the world in honoring National Hospice and Palliative Care Day. World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is a unified day of action to celebrate and support hospice and palliative care around the world. The theme for World Day 2008 is “Hospice and Palliative Care: A Human Right.”

The goals of World Hospice and Palliative Care Day are:

To share the vision to increase the availability of hospice and palliative care throughout the world by creating opportunities to speak about the issues
To raise awareness and understanding of the needs – medical, social, practical, spiritual – of people living with a life limiting illness and their families.
